Make the Life Choice!
Grand Strand Citizens for Life (GSCL) was founded in 1984 and incorporated in 1985 as a non-profit citizens group formed to promote a public recognition of the dignity and right to life of every individual from the time of conception. In order to foster a respect for human rights as a matter of social justice, the Grand Strand membership led by its Board of Directors encourages an appreciation of family as a fundamental institution of society. GSCL seeks to educate the public on the problems of abortion, child abuse, human (fetal) experimentation, human cloning, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide and related subjects.
Through letters, publications, advertising and other materials, respect life information is distributed to their members and the public. Individual members carry the pro-life message to interested individuals and groups. In addition to their educational focus and in cooperation with Bethany Christian Services and Catholic Charities, Birthright of Georgetown, and churches located on the Strand, GSCL provides assistance to women and couples in crisis pregnancy, encouraging them to “Make the LIFE Choice” rather than abortion. Through GSCL, women in crisis pregnancies are offered unbiased and loving counsel regarding decisions she makes for herself, her family and her unborn child. Services are offered without regard to race, color, legal residency, marital status, economic status or religious affiliation. Grand Strand Citizens for Life is committed to work peacefully for an end to abortions and a genuine respect for all human life. In conjunction with South Carolina Citizens for Life, they support the annual January Life Rally in Columbia , South Carolina by providing transportation to and from the Rally. GSCL’s annual Pro-life Interfaith Prayer Vigil is held in January of each year to memorialize the millions of unborn children killed since the U.S. Supreme Court’s Roe Vs Wade decision which has resulted some 50,000,000 abortions on demand in this country. The annual Prayer Vigil is held each year at a different participating church along the Grand Strand and features prayers offered from ministers of many different denominations. Grand Strand Citizens for Life seeks and appreciates support from residents of the Grand Strand in its pro-life endeavor. Their Board of Directors and its’ officers are all volunteers and are a working Board. No salaries are paid. It is a 100% volunteer effort. Their goal is to assist the unborn, newborns, their mothers, the elderly, and defenseless who will benefit from a true respect for the dignity of life.
