Millions of women and children walk miles each day to fetch drinking water

Save a Life with Water Missions International

Water Missions International (WMI), addresses water crises globally. On Saturday, March 20, 2010 teams of volunteers put on their walking shoes, grabbed a water pail, and joined Water Missions International for the Walk for Water! WMI’s Walk for Water was a unique fundraising event that spread awareness of the global water crisis and helped provide safe water to people in need.

The Walk for Water was inspired by millions of women and children who are responsible for making the daily trek to collect water for their families. During the walk, each participant had the opportunity to carry an empty water pail, which could be filled with water at the halfway point along the route then carried to the finish. The Walk for Water was a fun, educational experience that everyone enjoyed! All funds raised supported Water Missions International’s ongoing efforts to provide safe water, sanitation and God’s love to people around the world.

WMI needs your help to bring safe water to people in need around the world—you can make a difference! Click here to volunteer with and/or donate to WMI.
