For 2010 Another Rural Mission Home

Rural Mission, Johns Island offers you a faith-building project.
Rural Mission is looking for local churches, civic organizations, and businesses to provide volunteers to improve the lives of elderly residents.

Please Help Sadie Gethers’ Family on Johns Island

Rural Mission, Johns Island offers you a faith-building mission project. They are asking for the financial support and for volunteers to replace an old dilapidated home on Johns Island (see link at bottom of page) with a new three bedroom home for Mrs. Sadie Gethers. Mrs. Gethers is 76 years old and shares her home with her daughter and her daughter’s children. The new home will be built on this property and the old home demolished upon completion. We hope to bless this needy family with a home that they can move into by the end of 2010.

Rural Mission, its staff, and wonderful volunteers will be repairing and rehabbing up to 70 homes in 2010 for very low income families and the elderly living in very unsafe, unhealthy, and substandard older homes from Johns Island to Yonges and Edisto Islands. Giving the Gethers’ family hope and a future will be a major priority for the year requiring much support from the Charleston community and elsewhere.

Please contact the Rural Mission at 843-768-1720 or through The Rural Mission website to learn how you and fellow volunteers can help. Please help support this needed project financially by mailing a donation to the Mission at PO Box 235, Johns Island, SC 29457 – or donate on the The Rural Mission website through Network for Good.

Please consider volunteering when you can for these projects. The Rural Mission website contains an update on ongoing home projects that need to be completed. To obtain more information, please contact any of the following:
