Catholic Relief Services operates on 5 continents and in 99 countries to aid the poor and educating the people of the United States to fulfill their moral responsibilities to remove the causes of poverty, and promoting social justice in the US and worldwide.

The Orthodox Church in America's Department of Christian Witness and Service promotes the involvement of local clergy and laity in caring for the needs of others in local and world communities with emphasis on the homebound and chronically ill of any age and their caregivers, the hungry and homeless, families in everyday life or in times of challenge, girls and women in crisis pregnancies, health ministries, and prison ministries.
